Hey guys,
(Edited in: I wrote this entry a while ago and I can't believe I forgot to post it!! Sorry for the late entry but I hope you enjoyy!)
I'm quite liking this whole DIY "lifestyle" series I've been doing so I'm going to post up some more of these! This week's post is about optimism/positive thoughts and how it relates to your own confidence, which ties in slightly to my last post about daily motivation/inspiration (see it here: http://thecraftershome.weebly.com/blog/diy-daily-motivationinspiration). I'll probably doing quite a few of these "DIY lifestyle" posts in the future and it will most likely be about a topic that I think is important. Leave a comment below if you want to see something specific or you just want to drop by and say "hi" :))
Now seriously, I'm no expert at this optimism or self-confidence thing because there are definitely days (most of them) when I see the glass as half-empty and I really just want to grouch and slouch around. But luckily for me (and luckily for you if you feel the same way), your view on your life can be changed through little steps! Hence, I've been trying out these things and they've given me some new insight, so hopefully they'll inspire you too :))
I'd also like to add a thank you for stopping by and reading! It means a lot to me when I see that people are reading my blog! <3 Feel free to leave a comment, or subscribe if you enjoyed!
(This one isn't as detailed as my usual DIY lifestyle posts because I'm still kind of sick, see my last post update for details. But I will have a longer one for my next one!)

Have a small glass pot/jar/vase and a few slips of paper (you can print them off the internet and cut them out). On each slip of paper, write one quality about yourself that you like or a positive message about life in general (things like Smile!)! Mix them up and ever time you're feeling in a grouchy or negative mood, just pick one out, read it a few times, and take a deep breath to release any tension! :)
You can even have your friends and family occasionally write something positive about you or just a positive message in general (you don't need to tell them what it's for) and put it in!

Don't forget to smile (and laugh)! Research suggests that even fake smiling can cause a happy mood (through hormone changes and such) so if you're grumpy, simply smiling will put you (and people around you) in a better mood!
I mentioned this in my post about daily motivation but this "tactic" applies so well because we're in the digital age! Set your phone or desktop wallpaper as something that will make you laugh or smile! You'll most likely see it every day so it will hopefully be able to reinforce a positive message!
Pick any notebook you like (it's great if it has an inspirational or uplifting quote!) and each day (or even just a few days a week), jot down some things you're grateful for and happy about! It doesn't have to be long, it doesn't even have to be serious all the time (because maybe you really are grateful and happy that day about the couch and T.V.!). Writing your thoughts down is great way to let go of negative energy!
I hope you enjoyed this post, and I hope it helped you a little or gave you some insight! Leave a comment below telling me what you think and what makes you smile every day!
